Generally speaking, in order to make cutting more convenient and faster, the rake angle and entering angle of the turning tool for turning slender shafts will be set larger, and the radial vibration needs to be reduced. Because there is a chip breaker in front of the turning tool that needs to be used during rough machining, which is convenient for chip collection. Knives for fine turning need to have a certain negative edge inclination.
Adopt reverse feed
When turning, the turning tool needs to continuously feed in the direction of the tailstock, and the feed force applied by the tool on the workpiece needs to be towards the tailstock. In order to reduce the deformation and bending during the machining process, a cara tool can be added.
Use a knife holder
The follower tool holder is an important tool for machining slender shafts. Using the follower tool holder can offset a certain radial cutting force during the machining process and reduce the deformation of the workpiece due to less vibration during the process. Improve the clamping method of the workpiece

Therefore, elasticity can be used in the tailstock to allow it to expand and contract freely. In order to improve the precision of the slender shaft, the double method can be used for finishing machining.
